The term «markup» is utilized in the corpus. The Markup provides all the necessary information related to the sought word. There are five markup types in the corpus: morphological, word-building, semantic, lexical, phonetic-phonological.
The morphological markup defines which part of speech the word belongs to as well as the types of affixes. The names of parts of speech and affixes are shortened and given via tags (tag). If the desired word is not found in the corpus, the inscription «Unknown» emerges.
Word-building markup shows the word formation process of the search entry and distinguishes the root from affixes.
Semantic markup demonstrates the semantic group to which the desired word belongs.
Lexical markup shows all the dictionary meanings of the word sought for in the corpus. In case the desired word is a homonym, its other meanings are also provided.
Phonetic-phonological markup shows the formation (articulatory) and pronunciation (acoustic) features of every phoneme (sound) in the desired word.
Meta-markup demonstrates the source text of the desired word, the author of the text, author’s gender, the title of the text, period of publication, source, style, media type, etc.
