Welcome to the Kazakh Writers' Subcorpus website! The Kazakh Writers' Subcorpus is an annotated electronic database of literary works (prose and drama), as well as a database of expressive devices reflecting the writers' artistic language. Using the subcorpus, users can obtain comprehensive information about works of Kazakh literature (novels, novellas, short stories, fables, short stories, plays, etc.) and read them online. The subcorpus includes works by 100 Kazakh writers. All texts are provided with metadata containing detailed information about the authors. The total text database contains 10 million word tokens. For user convenience, expressive devices commonly found in literary works—similes, figurative expressions, phraseological units, metaphors, epithets, proverbs, and aphorisms—are organized into separate search categories. Searches are performed by keyword, metadata (author, title, genre, chronotope, age group), and literary devices. The writers' subcorpus is intended for fans of Kazakh fiction, a wide range of readers, and researchers of the writers' language.
